Couples Therapy
Strengthen your relationship.
Over time, couples may find themselves having the same arguments repeatedly, struggling to communicate effectively, or feeling less connected than they once did. Whether you are facing significant challenges or simply want to deepen your connection, couples therapy can provide the support needed to move forward together.
Feel more understood.
Your therapist helps facilitate productive conversations while ensuring both individuals feel heard and respected. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, therapy focuses on helping both partners better understand themselves, each other, and their relationship patterns.
-
Relationship struggles often involve more than communication problems alone. Beneath many conflicts are unmet emotional needs, attachment patterns, past experiences, and a desire to feel understood, valued, and connected.
Our therapists utilize both the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two highly researched and effective approaches to couples counseling.
-
The therapy process typically begins with an initial joint session where we learn about your relationship history, strengths, concerns, and goals.
Depending on the needs of the couple, individual sessions may also be incorporated to gain a more complete understanding of each partner's perspective and experiences.
From there, treatment focuses on helping you identify patterns, strengthen communication, deepen connection, and build practical tools that support long-term relationship success.
Progress often occurs through small but meaningful changes that improve trust, understanding, and emotional closeness over time.
-

The Gottman Method helps couples improve communication, manage conflict more effectively, strengthen friendship and intimacy, and build practical skills that support long-term relationship success.
This approach focuses on identifying relationship strengths, understanding the patterns contributing to conflict, and developing healthier ways of interacting.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy focuses on helping couples understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs that often drive relationship conflict.
EFT helps partners recognize negative interaction cycles, express emotions more effectively, and develop greater emotional safety and connection within the relationship. As partners begin to understand and respond to each other's needs differently, trust and closeness often increase.
-
By integrating both Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, we help couples strengthen communication skills while also addressing the deeper emotional and relational dynamics that influence the relationship.
This allows couples to not only solve problems more effectively but also create stronger emotional bonds and a more secure relationship.
Healthy relationships are not built on the absence of conflict…..
They are built on the ability to work through challenges together while maintaining connection and respect. Couples therapy helps partners move beyond cycles of blame, criticism, defensiveness, avoidance, and misunderstanding. Through increased awareness, healthier communication, and a deeper understanding of one another's needs, couples can begin creating new patterns that strengthen their relationship. Seeking therapy does not mean your relationship is failing.
